COVID-19 information

Due to the circuit-breaker lockdown imposed by the Victorian Government that came into effect on Thursday 27 May at 11.59pm, basketball in Victoria will be reduced to the RED-0 REACTIVATION LEVEL as per the Basketball Victoria Return to Sport Guidelines.

As a result, all basketball games and training are cancelled until 11.59pm on Thursday 3rd June. At this stage, Friday night games will resume Friday 4th June and Saturday games on Saturday 5th June. Tuesday Senior Women’s games will resume Tuesday 15th June.

Week night training will resume after lockdown is over.

We are currently operating under the Basketball Victoria COVID-Safe Level (formerly Green-100).

Matches will run on their usual 45-minute schedule with 18-minute halves but there will be no gap between games.
As there are no gaps between games all patrons are instructed to leave the venue immediately following their match.

There is a 1 person per 4sqm rule capacity rule in place, however Basketball Victoria have advised that associations should limit the number of spectators to 40 per court which we will follow. This means that immediate family can attend but we are asking extended family/friends etc to refrain from attending until further notice. All patrons must ensure they maintain social distancing where possible.

All patrons must carry a mask, and it is strongly recommended that you wear your mask whenever you cannot keep 1.5m distance from others.

We are now using COVID-Comply as our QR Code software which all patrons will need to use to mark their attendance at the venue. After details are entered the first time you can save your details to make it easier for subsequent visits.

Match balls will not be provided on game day. The coach of each team is permitted to bring 2 balls in for warm up and a match ball will be selected from these. No other basketballs will be allowed into the venues.

The canteen at Nunawading Stadium will be open, with EFTPOS facilities being the preferred payment method.

This season there will be free entry into all games as MEBA will not be charging admission.

Game day

  • Only immediate family are permitted to attend games at this time. This is limited to parents and siblings only.

  • ALL patrons MUST check-in using the QR codes provided at the entrance to each venue.

  • The coach of each team is permitted to bring in two balls each. No other basketballs are permitted into the venue.

  • Please do not arrive at your game more than 15 minutes early. It is also preferable for you to wait outside. This will assist with capacity numbers and game changeover.

  • All patrons must practice social distancing (1.5m) where possible. Where this is not possible, masks MUST be worn.
