Age eligibility

Nunawading Basketball Association has implemented a number of changes to the competition.

Age groups - Summer 2025/26
Age groups are based on your child's age as of 31 December 2025. Please refer to the table below to determine the correct age group:​

Children in U9s play with a ring height of 10 feet.

The U15's age group will now use a size 7 basketball instead of a size 6.

Please note that any player may be called upon by the Registrar, competition committee, or Grade Secretary to supply proof of age. This proof of age must be provided within seven (7) days of the initial request.

The prescribed age deadlines will be strictly adhered to.

Grade structure
The association will be moving from the B1, B2, B3 grading model to an A, A Reserve (AR), B, BR, C, CR. This change was implemented to provide greater consistency across age groups as well as better clarity regarding eligible fill-ins throughout the season, and with clearances and transfers.
