Age eligibility

Nunawading Basketball Association has implemented a number of changes to the competition.

Age groups
Teams age groupings are now: U8, U9, U11, U13, U15, U17, U19

What this means for the coming season is that most children will stay with the same age level group. For example, if your child was at the top age in U12s, they will now be at the top age of U13s.

Most impacted

Children at the top age of U8s will now move into U9s. They will play with a ring height of 10 feet.
The U15's age group will now use a size 7 basketball instead of a size 6.

Please note that any player may be called upon by the Registrar, competition committee, or Grade Secretary to supply proof of age. This proof of age must be provided within seven (7) days of the initial request.

The prescribed age deadlines will be strictly adhered to.

Grade structure

The association will be moving from the B1, B2, B3 grading model to an A, A Reserve (AR), B, BR, C, CR. This change was implemented to provide greater consistency across age groups as well as better clarity regarding eligible fill-ins throughout the season, and with clearances and transfers.
